Sheboygan Press • June 16
The City of Sheboygan would like the Environmental Protection Agency to dig deeper in its effort to clean up contamination of the Sheboygan River.
The EPA is in the final stages of designing a project to remove polychlorinated byphenyls, a known carcinogen, from the Sheboygan River between the Eighth Street Bridge and Pennsylvania Avenue. Dredging in that section of the river, part of a Superfund site, is set to be done next year.

Can a new "manatee alarm" save manatees through technology?
10connects - june 16
When "Della" was brought into Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo, her outlook was bleak. A boat had blasted across her back. Her internal wounds were vicious. Even with the best treatment, the staff here admitted, she'd need some luck.
Days later, the staff learned Della had something to live for; she gave birth to a calf.

Groups sue to get gray wolves back on list
AP - June 16
Five groups sued the government Monday for removing more than 4,000 gray wolves in the upper Great Lakes region from the endangered list, prolonging a dispute over whether the predator can survive without federal protection.
Despite the wolf's comeback from near-extinction in the region over the past two decades, some activists insist it remains vulnerable. The lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., seeks an injunction returning Great Lakes wolves to the endangered list while the case is heard.
